The domain
Château Mouton Rothschild was founded in 1853 by Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild in Pauillac, Médoc. It covers 91 hectares, planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon. It became a Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1973 under the leadership of Philippe de Rothschild.
The vineyard
Located on 82 hectares in the Médoc, the vineyard is made up of vines aged 50 years on average, planted on stony gravel soils and a clay-gravel subsoil.
