The Little Ducru of Ducru-Beaucaillou - 2018
The domain
An iconic Cru Classé of Saint-Julien, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou traces its origins back 300 years, when six families worked to raise the profile of this vintage internationally. Since 1941, it has belonged to the Borie family, who have elevated it to the ranks of the elite of Saint-Julien's great red wines. Its name comes from its "beautiful pebbles" terroir, made up of Gunzian gravel.
The vineyard
The vineyard is characterized by being planted on Günzian and Pyrenean gravel soils deposited by the Gironde estuary nearly two million years ago.
